Ransomware disrupts Pennsylvania Attorney General systems and case workflows

In August 2025, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General suffered a ransomware incident that encrypted files and disrupted access to email, landline phones, internal data and other systems used to execute agency duties. Some staff and prosecutors lost access to systems needed for case work, and courts issued time extensions while the office used alternate channels and restored services.
