Cyber incident forces Legal Practice Board of Western Australia into manual service delivery

On 21 May 2025, the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia detected unauthorized access to part of its IT environment. Several systems, including online services, were taken offline and the Board implemented manual workarounds for statutory services such as practising-certificate applications. The disruption caused processing and payment delays and forced the Board to waive some late fees while systems were restored.
