Bandai Channel compromise forces prolonged streaming-service shutdown

Unauthorized access to Bandai Channel systems on 4 November 2025 was used to submit unauthorized account-cancellation operations affecting tens of thousands of accounts. Bandai Namco Filmworks suspended the service on 6 November and did not resume Bandai Channel until 19 December while it rebuilt and investigated the environment. Authorities later said a teenager had exploited a server vulnerability to automate the unauthorized cancellations.
