Indonesia national data center ransomware disrupts immigration and government services

Indonesia's Temporary National Data Center suffered ransomware activity on 20 June 2024 that encrypted infrastructure supporting government agencies. The outage disrupted public services, including immigration processing and operations at major airports, until core immigration services were restored. Indonesian authorities identified the malware as Brain Cipher ransomware derived from LockBit 3.0.
