Cyberattack disrupts payments and online orders across Verny supermarket chain

Beginning around 01/06/2024, Russian supermarket chain Verny suffered a cyberattack that impaired systems across its retail operations. Stores were unable to process bank-card payments, self-checkout functionality was affected, and the unavailable website and application prevented online orders. By 04/06/2024, card payments had been restored in approximately 75% of stores while restoration of distribution centers and other systems continued.
