OPEXUS insider cyberattack deletes government databases and disrupts federal FOIA systems

Immediately after being terminated on 18 February 2025, two former OPEXUS employees used unauthorized access to damage systems hosting U.S. government information, deleting about 96 databases and exfiltrating government files. The incident temporarily prevented several federal agencies from accessing OPEXUS-hosted FOIA systems.
