Blacon High School ransomware forces multi-day closure and partial reopening

Blacon High School reported a ransomware attack on 17 January 2025. The school closed to all students on 20-22 January while devices and systems were investigated and rebuilt, then reopened only to Years 10 and 11 on 23-24 January while younger students remained at home. Full in-person operations resumed on 27 January, while some communications systems were still recovering.
