RECOPE ransomware forces manual fuel-distribution operations

Costa Rica's state fuel company RECOPE suffered a ransomware attack on 27 November 2024 that affected its information and sales systems. Fuel sales and terminal operations shifted to manual procedures, electronic purchasing channels were suspended and tanker processing slowed, although RECOPE maintained national fuel supply.
