Washington Courts cyber incident shuts down statewide judicial systems for more than two weeks

The Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts detected continued unauthorized activity on the Washington Courts network and isolated the network from the internet on 1 November 2024. Judicial Information System applications, e-filing, document portals and other statewide services became unavailable. Courts adopted emergency procedures and manual workarounds, and the outage also prevented other Washington agencies from completing some background checks. Most applications were restored on 18 November.
