DDoS attack disrupts Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services worldwide

A distributed denial-of-service attack against Microsoft's Azure Front Door and CDN infrastructure on 30 July 2024 triggered widespread connectivity errors, timeouts and latency. An error in Microsoft's DDoS protection implementation amplified the incident, disrupting Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview and other dependent services for roughly eight hours.
