Sault Tribe ransomware attack closes Kewadin casinos and disrupts tribal services

A ransomware attack beginning on 9 February 2025 disrupted critical computer networks across the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, affecting tribal government operations, health centers and pharmacies, and forcing all five Kewadin casinos to close. The casinos reopened in stages from 26 February through 3 March.
