Cyber incident disrupts booking and guest systems across German youth hostels

Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk confirmed a security-relevant incident in its data center on August 30 that caused temporary failures across website, communications and guest-facing systems. Reporting documented booking and invoicing failures, manual check-in delays and keycard/door problems across much of the roughly 450-hostel network before restoration within days.
