Ransomware attack largely suspends SYNLAB Italy operations

SYNLAB identified a cyberattack early on 18 April 2024 and deactivated its Italian IT systems, causing operations in Italy to be largely suspended. SYNLAB began restoring laboratories and blood collection points by 30 April. Subsequent notifications from an affected laboratory identify the event as ransomware and confirm patient data exfiltration.
