Ransomware attack takes GBI Genios information services offline
GBI Genios reported that an external attacker encrypted its VMware infrastructure during the night of 6-7 April 2024. Its research and database platforms became unavailable to customers, including universities, libraries and businesses, and the company had to rebuild its infrastructure before gradually restoring normal service.
