MacKay Memorial Hospital ransomware disrupts emergency and outpatient systems

MacKay Memorial Hospital suffered a ransomware attack in February 2025 that encrypted hospital files and caused more than 500 computers in emergency and outpatient departments to crash, materially disrupting medical operations. Taiwanese police later attributed the attack to CrazyHunter and reported subsequent patient-data extortion activity.
