Schneider Electric Sustainability Business ransomware attack interrupts Resource Advisor services

On January 17, 2024, Schneider Electric's Sustainability Business division experienced a ransomware incident affecting Resource Advisor and other division-specific business systems. The attack interrupted access to software platforms used for corporate energy management, sustainability reporting and related business services. Schneider Electric isolated and recovered the affected environment, restoring business-platform access on January 31. The company confirmed that the attack was contained within the Sustainability Business division and did not affect other Schneider Electric divisions. The Cactus ransomware group was linked to the attack in external reporting.
