Coop Värmland cyberattack prevents card payments and impairs store order systems

On 22 December 2023 Coop Värmland experienced a cyberattack that prevented card payments at its stores for roughly a day and disrupted internal IT. Swedish reporting also documented continuing problems with order systems after card transactions resumed; the retailer later reported exposure of member and employee data.
