Unauthorized access to Court Services Victoria audiovisual network disrupts hearing technology

On 8 December 2023, unauthorized access affected Court Services Victoria's centrally managed courtroom audio-visual network. After discovery on 21 December, the organization isolated the affected system, restricting in-court recording, transcription and remote-hearing functions until staged restoration in January 2024. Court hearings continued, with modified arrangements where required; other court IT networks were not identified as compromised.
