Ransomware attack on Ongoing Operations disrupts banking services at approximately 60 US credit unions

On November 26, 2023, Ongoing Operations, a cloud and business-continuity services provider owned by Trellance, suffered a confirmed ransomware attack affecting its hosted infrastructure. The incident disrupted systems used by FedComp and approximately 60 US credit unions, restricting access to core data-processing and online banking services. NY Bravest Federal Credit Union confirmed that its online banking and shared-branching services remained unavailable on December 4 because its processing provider could not access the affected infrastructure. The disruption propagated from the directly compromised technology provider to financial institutions dependent on its services. The specific ransomware operator was not established.
