Cyberattack on Capital Health disrupts outpatient imaging and diagnostic appointments

Capital Health experienced unauthorized access to its network between November 11 and November 26, 2023, followed by network outages and service limitations disclosed on November 28. Contemporary statements attributed to the health system reported that outpatient radiology was unavailable, neurophysiology and non-invasive cardiology examinations had to be rescheduled, and elective surgical schedules were adjusted. Emergency departments, inpatient admissions and medical practices continued operating. A June 2025 retrospective notice stated that its hospitals and clinics operated normally throughout the response; this broader characterization is not fully aligned with the specific outpatient limitations documented contemporaneously. The TRACE impact is therefore limited to those specific interrupted or degraded clinical services.
