In November 2023, attackers compromised infrastructure belonging to Israeli website-hosting and e-commerce technology provider Signature-IT. Israel's National Cyber Directorate confirmed that approximately 40 hosted commercial websites were affected, including the online storefronts of Home Center and Kravitz. The Israel State Archives also lost public access to its archival search and viewing services; a temporary replacement portal was not introduced until June 2024. The disruption originated in Signature-IT's systems rather than in separate direct attacks against every customer. The group Cyber Toufan claimed responsibility, although contemporaneous reporting did not establish definitive attribution. The incident demonstrates material propagation from a compromised technology provider to retail and public archival services.
