Tri-City Medical Center cyberattack diverts ambulances and interrupts medical procedures

Tri-City Medical Center discovered a cyberattack on November 9, 2023, and took clinical information systems offline as an emergency containment measure. The hospital suspended elective surgeries and procedures and diverted incoming ambulances to neighboring facilities, increasing their emergency-care workload. Electronic clinical systems were restored and ambulance admissions resumed around November 17. The attack materially interrupted healthcare service delivery, even though the hospital continued providing some medical care.
