Ransomware disrupts Henry County Schools' network and online courses

During the week of November 6, 2023, Henry County Schools discovered suspicious network activity later confirmed by the district to be ransomware involving unauthorized access. On November 9, the district restricted network connectivity and reported interruptions to internet access and online courses. School attendance and most in-person teaching continued through contingency procedures. The material consequence was therefore the suspension of online educational delivery and degradation of network-dependent school services, not a district-wide physical school closure.
