Cornwall Community Hospital cyberattack causes delays to non-urgent patient care

On April 11, 2023, Cornwall Community Hospital identified a network problem subsequently determined to be a cybersecurity incident. The hospital advised that patients could experience delays to scheduled or non-urgent services while technical recovery proceeded. It explicitly stated that its clinical electronic health record remained unaffected and that care continued. The material consequence was limited degradation of patient-service delivery rather than a hospital-wide shutdown.
