DDoS attack disrupts Skylink customer and service-activation platforms in Czechia and Slovakia

On March 21, 2023, the Skylink television platform operated by Luxembourg-based M7 Group experienced an intensive distributed denial-of-service attack affecting its Czech and Slovak digital services. The attack rendered customer websites, subscriber account systems and dealer activation and servicing portals unavailable. Customers and resellers temporarily could not manage subscriptions, activate services or perform certain card-management functions. The operator confirmed that television broadcasting itself was not interrupted. Although the core television content service remained operational, the attack materially disrupted customer-facing service administration and activation workflows. The operator described the attack as originating from a Russian hacking group, but a specific actor identity was not independently established.
