Shoreline Community College ransomware attack disrupts campus operations and academic services

On March 20, 2023, Shoreline Community College detected a ransomware incident that disrupted its campus network and multiple operational services. Campus Wi-Fi, the institutional website, printing, local computer authentication and several internal network-dependent functions became unavailable. Most personnel transitioned to remote work while the campus remained partially operational. The college implemented alternative student-support arrangements, experienced enrollment and course-access difficulties and adjusted the beginning of spring-quarter instruction. Subsequent institutional records explicitly documented disruptions to operations and coursework. The incident materially affected the college's educational service delivery and administrative workflows.
