Cybersecurity incident disrupts Tennessee State University remote academic services

After identifying compromised computers and a potential ransomware threat on February 27, 2023, Tennessee State University shut down Internet access to contain the incident. An official March 1 notice confirmed that off-campus users could not access MyTSU, Banner, VPN or Citrix, materially restricting delivery of remote student and administrative services; some on-campus systems remained available. Confirmed encryption was not reported.
