Medusa-linked encryption attack disrupts Minneapolis Public Schools

An encryption-virus intrusion discovered on February 18 disrupted Minneapolis Public Schools computer networks and teaching-related services. Student logins and administrative tools were impaired and parent-teacher conferences were cancelled; the district later confirmed data theft, while Medusa claimed responsibility and demanded a ransom. Weather-related closures are not attributed to the attack.
