Cyberattack forces ambulance diversions and cancels appointments at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center

An unauthorized-access cyber incident affecting Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center began on 31 August 2023 as part of a coordinated incident also affecting the other North Country hospital. The hospital diverted ambulances and cancelled or rescheduled most outpatient appointments while IT and connectivity were restored. Dialysis, cancer treatment and wound care continued. LockBit claimed responsibility, but the claim alone does not prove use of ransomware encryption.
