DDoS-linked outage interrupts VGTRK online broadcast services
During the February 21 Russian presidential address, VGTRK’s website and the affiliated Smotrim online streaming service became inaccessible for periods, interrupting online distribution of live media content. Russia’s RIA Novosti attributed the outages to DDoS activity and the IT Army of Ukraine claimed responsibility, but Reuters could not independently prove that mechanism.
