DDoS attack causes intermittent outage of Kenya eCitizen government services

A distributed denial-of-service attack beginning around July 23 overloaded Kenya's eCitizen government-services portal, making online public services intermittently unavailable for three days. The Kenyan government subsequently reported restored service and said its defenses prevented compromise of platform data; this did not negate the documented service disruption.
