Ransomware attack takes Hawaiʻi Community College network offline

Hawaiʻi Community College learned of a ransomware incident on June 13, 2023, and University of Hawaiʻi IT services took the college network offline as a containment measure. The outage disrupted access to campus network connectivity; the university later reported that wireless connectivity had been restored at all college locations but wired-network restoration was still pending as of July 26. No separate attack on other University of Hawaiʻi campuses was established. NoEscape publicly claimed the attack.
