Bluefield University cyberattack suspends campus IT services during exams

Bluefield University suspended access to campus computer systems and email after an April 2023 cyberattack during final examinations. An extortion group later abused the university’s RamAlert notification channel to send threats directly to students and staff; there is no verified evidence that exams were canceled.
