Cyberattacks suspend emergency and outpatient services across MultiMedica hospitals

During the night of April 21-22, 2023, MultiMedica experienced a cyberattack against its hospital IT infrastructure, followed by a second attack on April 25. The incidents disrupted access to clinical systems and forced suspension of outpatient appointments, emergency department intake and medical-report collection at facilities including the San Giuseppe hospital in Milan and the MultiMedica hospital in Sesto San Giovanni. Ambulance diversions and manual clinical workflows followed, while selected essential treatments continued. The two closely related attacks are consolidated into one operational incident.
