Cyberattack shuts Metropolitan Opera ticketing and box office for nine days

A cyberattack on December 6, 2022 disabled the Metropolitan Opera website, call center and box-office ticket-processing systems. New orders, exchanges and refunds could not be handled through normal channels until service returned December 15. Performances continued as scheduled, so the confirmed operational impact was ticket sales and customer service rather than cancelled shows.
