Malware disrupts INDEC public statistics portal and staff systems
On December 5, 2022, malicious software encrypted an authentication virtual machine used by Argentina’s INDEC following a scheduled backup. The agency took its statistics website and additional systems offline to contain the incident, preventing staff from carrying out normal work and temporarily interrupting public access to official statistical information.
