Commack School District ransomware disables main telephone lines and disrupts parent communications

On 8 November 2022 a ransomware-related network outage at Commack School District took down the district main telephone lines and disrupted ordinary parent-school communication. The district published temporary contact numbers and asked families to send handwritten notes for changes to student dismissal arrangements. The evidence does not establish cancellation of classes or a complete teaching shutdown.
