Ransomware disrupts clinical services across Consorci Sanitari Integral healthcare facilities

During the early hours of October 7, 2022, a ransomware attack disrupted information systems operated by Consorci Sanitari Integral in Catalonia. Healthcare personnel at affected hospitals and other facilities temporarily lost access to electronic medical records and computer-dependent clinical functions. Emergency care and other services continued under contingency procedures, but normal healthcare delivery was materially degraded. Most affected systems had been restored by October 9, although recovery activities continued. RansomEXX was subsequently associated with the publication of stolen data.
