Grain Valley School District ransomware attack disrupts classroom technology and communications

During the early hours of October 2, 2022, Grain Valley School District in Missouri experienced a ransomware attack that disrupted Wi-Fi connectivity and several internal systems. District telephones and printers remained unavailable for approximately two days while technical personnel restored functionality. Teachers had to adapt classroom activities to work around unavailable technology, although schools stayed open and instruction continued. The district also postponed a planned telephone-system migration while investigating the incident.
