Ransomware disrupts Indianapolis Housing Agency rental-assistance disbursements

A ransomware attack disclosed by Indianapolis Housing Agency in early October 2022 disabled administrative systems and staff communications. Housing Choice Voucher rent payments to landlords were delayed; staff resorted to manual processing of utility-allowance checks and critical vendor payments. About 8,000 households relied on the affected voucher program. The date recorded is the earliest independently located public disclosure, not a verified date of intrusion.
