Ransomware disrupts OakBend Medical Center clinical systems and communications

OakBend Medical Center in Richmond, Texas, experienced a ransomware attack on September 1, 2022, and took its information systems offline. Clinical systems required restoration, while hospital telephone and email services remained impaired at least into September 9. On September 22 the hospital reported that nearly all clinical systems had been restored, demonstrating a material interruption of normal healthcare-service workflows even though the hospital continued providing patient care. The Daixin Team subsequently claimed responsibility; that attribution is not independently established by the hospital's operational statements.
