Yuma Regional Medical Center ransomware disrupts care workflows and appointments

Yuma Regional Medical Center detected ransomware on April 25, 2022, and disconnected affected computer systems to contain the incident. Hospital representatives stated that more than 400 computer systems were offline and staff reverted to paper-based records. The hospital confirmed delays in patient-facing services and the need to evaluate or reschedule some appointments, although facilities stayed open and clinical care continued using downtime procedures. Subsequent investigation found that files containing information on hundreds of thousands of patients had been removed from the network.
