Denial-of-service attack disrupts QuickLaunch authentication for higher-education customers

On August 23 an automated denial-of-service attack flooded QuickLaunch password-reset endpoints, degrading its password-manager API and rendering single sign-on intermittently unavailable at customer institutions. QuickLaunch applied emergency bypasses and restored core login service in approximately seven hours, while some password and multi-factor functions remained impaired. A distinct August 22 technical outage is not attributed to this attack.
