Hive ransomware disrupts Damart retail orders and customer services

An intrusion into Damart on the night of August 15-16, 2022 reached Active Directory and triggered limited Hive ransomware encryption. Damart shut down applications to contain the attack; its e-commerce website and customer service were unavailable, ordering shifted to a degraded process, and operations at 92 French stores were affected with fewer orders accepted. The reported USD 2 million figure was an extortion demand, not a confirmed loss.
