July cyberattack interrupts ista customer portals and billing services

ista detected a cyberattack on July 25, 2022 and disconnected affected corporate IT systems to contain it. Customer portals and other services became unavailable, including functions used to produce annual consumption bills, with delays reported during the restoration period in Germany and Austria. ista later confirmed that meter readings and meter devices remained unaffected and consumption data continued to be collected. The Daixin Team claimed responsibility and encryption, but its expansive technical claims were not independently established.
