Cyberattack disrupts four ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco hospitals and diverts ambulances

A cyberattack detected on 1 May 2022 disabled shared hospital information services operated by ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco across the Sacco, Fatebenefratelli, Buzzi and Macedonio Melloni facilities and territorial sites. Staff resorted to manual procedures, emergency ambulances were diverted and access to emergency and diagnostic services was restricted while systems were restored. Data encryption and later Vice Society publication were documented; the July entry for Macedonio Melloni refers to this earlier network-wide incident.
