Vectalia cyberattack impairs bus operations and passenger information in Spain

A cyberattack affecting Vectalia on 27 June 2022 made transport-related IT systems unavailable. Urban and interurban passenger transport in Alicante experienced operational difficulties associated with route and frequency GPS systems; live bus-arrival information in Alicante and Albacete stops, mobile applications and web channels remained disrupted. Vectalia deployed staff to provide passenger information manually and on 19 July still reported affected digital services.
