Cyberattack forces week-long suspension of Cedar Rapids summer school programs
A cyberattack occurred on 2 July 2022 at Cedar Rapids Community School District, whose management suspended summer educational programs and field trips for the ensuing week while restoring systems. Scholar Camp, Kids on Course University and Champions activities were interrupted and resumed on 11 July; district communications also described IT-system and telephone problems. Later reporting and disclosures identified ransomware and a related data breach.
