DDoS causes downtime for Coretrek-hosted Norwegian public and ferry websites

On 4 July 2022, an apparent DDoS campaign affected web services delivered by Norwegian provider Coretrek. The Norwegian National Security Authority reported being indirectly affected through its provider and had a website outage of under one hour; websites of ferry operators Boreal and Bastø Fosen were also unavailable. Coretrek leadership initially said the precise cause was still under investigation; a pro-Russian group claimed the attack but independent technical attribution remains unconfirmed.
