Americanas cyberattack suspends e-commerce and causes lost sales
After unauthorized access was detected on 19–20 February 2022, Americanas proactively suspended e-commerce servers serving Americanas.com and other group brands. Online purchasing was unavailable for approximately five days; the company subsequently reported BRL 923 million (approximately USD 183 million) in sales not realized. Physical stores and existing logistics operations continued, so their shutdown is not claimed.
